I am so appalled that this was the outcome for this beautiful creature! AND VERY ANGRY< MR IEMMA & PARKS AND WILDLIFE!
What would have been so wrong with trying to feed the baby from day 1 to at least give it a fighting chance – I’d far sooner have seen some of the money squandered on the Olympc games channelled this way to give this single baby a chance, than have any number of Gold medals.
Why is it that we entrust our precious things to a government and Department proven to be inept? Look at the bushfires caused by Parks and Wildlife back burns and now this. And my guess is that when we get an autopsy result, it won’t be the truth, but another cover up by government. Feeding has worked in America, so why was it just dismissed here?
Parks and Wildlife won’t allow anyone else near our whales and this I accept as sound practice. BUT if you assume responsibility, then behave responsibly and in a way that at least tries to sustain life until we know if it works or not.
Don’t let this baby have died for nothing…..force Parks and Wildlife to have no choice in future – force them to at least try to support life.
Oh, and by the way….this isn’t yet another excuse for a “fact finding” tour of the US or somewhere else. This is the age of the internet do the rersearch now as a contingency against thios happening again so that there is no more ineffective procrastination that costs another baby it’s life! Just because the mother died doesn’t mean this baby could not have been saved with feeding and medication. At least try with all your heart Parks and Wildlife and don’t sell us any more rubbish!
